I'm using WinDVD 8 platinum and when I play DVDs they frequently stutter(meaning the effect like pausing and unpausing a lot), I installed CCCP codec and computer is well above standards for playing DVDs.
What could it be? It is extremely annoying and it's disabling me from enjoying watching movies on my computer.

How can you remove every single codec you ever installed? I haven't reinstalled Windows for almost 2 years so I have a lot of shit on it, there were no stuttering when I first bought the computer..
And how can I find where the MPC is, I checked all the folders in program files... -
i meant download it....
click the link.
it's standalone btw. it'll be where you put it.
codecs,
try codec sniper,
see if there are broken ones,
start killing them off."I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you" -
Is this from a disk image, or from your HD, or playing back from DVD-ROM?

I knew you wouldn't understand despite me being clear...I already have MPC but need to activate another AVI/MPEG movie to activate MPC which is very annoying, WinDVD is already attached to automatic play of DVDs and MPC can't do that since DVD is a folder with a bunch of files, so I need MPC in my quicklaunch bar to open a DVD from activated MPC.

I used codec sniper and I have 203 codec on the list, how do I know which ones to delete? I installed CCCP specifically to have no hassle with movies and games.

in case you mean it's on your harddrive but you can't find it...
putting it in the quicklaunch bar is simplicity itself.
drag mplayerc.exe with a right click onto the bar, select create shortcut here.
2. on autoplay,
set to open the folder. with dvds.
open mpc, 'view'->'options'->'formats'-> tick 'dvd file'
double click the ifo.
3.on xp (i'm not familiar with vista)
you can use tweakui,
and add an autoplay handler.
add mpc to the autoplay list for dvd.
