I do have another ATI card an AIW radeon but its old. about three years old. can I just install one for capturing? and the other as the main graphics card? Will they cause problems with each other? Thanks in adnvance for the help.

If one is PCI and the other is AGP, you may be able to install both of them. But it can get complex.

  4. The answer to this is actually quite easy. Perhaps too easy for the experts. The MMC "picture in a picture" feature actually promotes this setup. The feature is called Multview.

It allows two cards to coexist and have independent video sources. Without having two cards installed this feature would not be possible. Of course you cannot have two AGP cards installed for obvious reasons. But an AGP and PCI installation works just fine.

Go to the atitech site and search Multview for help in this matter.

How about installing both, then going to the device manager and disabling whichever one you're not using at the time?

Sometimes, yes. Make sure there aren't any IRQ, I/O, and DMA sharing. You'll have to choose one for the Primary display. In your BIOS you can set this (AGP/PCI).

Install the current drivers, and newest direct X versions, and it should work.

@next, just because ATI says it, and makes softare for it, doesn't mean it'll actually work

  9. Goon - no. First of all you main graphics card (if "main" is what you are calling your Primary graphics card) must be the caputre card. Whether it's the PCI or AGP. Second, if you install another ATI card it will try to use the same driver as the Capture card. Even if you roll back to an older driver, there will be conflicts. I've tried this myself just recently. I took back the second ATI card and got a Nividia Geforce4 and everything workds great now.

  10. I believe ATI had it posted on their site about using more than one video card in a users pc. I believe they advised against it.

  11. Thanks for the help guys. I guess I'll have to uninstall the current one and install the old one.
