I got some Memorex +RW's (infodisc), and they seem to have spots on the dye side like they were defective. They are round, up to 3-4mm with a dot in the center inside the dye, randomly place. Data burns fine and DVDinfopro check them out ok, but I've never seen them on CDRs.
Also, does anyone know if DVD+RW dyes are as stable as normal +-R dyes? With CDRW some media is hit/miss.
Thanks,
HEX

If there are spots on the base of the disc there is DEFINITELY something wrong ewith them.
Take them back and get a refund. -
ABout 8 monts ago, i purchased a 20 individual jewel cased HP DVD+RW discs (ricoh) branded, although on one when i came to paly it, it froze 35mins into the film, you could skip forward, or select any content after tha scene, i examined the disc and found a darker black spot, maybe a 10mm in diameter, best bet, take em back (btw my defective disc also didnt show any read errors).

Damn, I've already recorded about 10 discs before I discovered the defect. Now I have to copy them before returning.
Damn you Infodisc! Damn you Memorex! What really pisses me off is that just the week before I bought a 5pack Memorex 4x RW that is philips from the same Compusa. Now I get a 25spindle and it's crap infodisc. I think they're trying to mess with my mind.
Does anyone know if +RW overall is stable in the long run?
Tim.
