probably a stupid action on my behalf, but i purchased a DVD of the "Flash" pilot at a local comix-con. been trying for a year on and off to get it to play, but nothing works on my APEX player or DVD-ROM. player recognizes a disk is in it, but acts like it's not a playable file, while the computer acts like it's not even there, telling me to insert a disk after i have. is there anyway to rip it from disk and convert to avi. from there i can do the rest. i would just like to play a superhero flik i've had for over a year.

yes, i do have a DVD reader program installed and yes have veiwed many store bought and home made DVDs successfully and even ripped a few for audio bits so i know it's capable of at least playing. on the same note my APEX player has been upgraded to region free. can't play this disc on either. can access on computer, but locks up when identifying individual files. tried smartripper to the same end. the DVD is homemade from a home recording of 'the flash', just not done correctly. would copying the disc image onto a virtual drive be worthwhile or would that lock me up further as it would remain active with each reboot (the only way i can unfereeze)?
