    Newbie, here. I've been trying to view the Rockefeller Christmas tree through easy2surf.com. The media player screen comes up, but immediately the web page message pops up with "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct".

    I contacted the website with the problem, only to be told the URL is working.

    This may sound trivial, but I love this time of year in New York, and miss being able to view it from Vancouver. I WAS able to connect to this site last year with no problem, by the way.
    Any suggestions, please?

    Thank you so much!!!! I currently have IE8 on my computer, with Avast! as my AV. I hope they'll be compatible. I'll give it a try

    should be fine, avast is my a/v also. you may need to install the wmp firefox plugin also.

    Well, I did download Firefox. When I returned to the same website, there was the same message. I still can't access it. But I do thank you for the picture you sent. It cheered me up - that's the image I remember from last year - sigh. Maybe incorrect settings somewhere on my computer? Any thoughts?

    close firefox and re-open it to get the plugin working. if it still doesn't work then easy2surf must be blocking your area or country.

    nbc streaming is going to have the tree lighting ceremony tonight at 8pm est i think. you should be able to find a link for that at least.

    Thanks, aedipuss. I called my daughter and asked her to open the links if she could. She couldn't, either. You're probably correct about access being blocked because we're in Canada. (The same thing happens on the PGA website when I try to watch play online - not available outside the USA.) I'll enjoy watching it tonight, though.
