Hi,

Ok this is my first time posting and my problem sort of relates to both conversion and SVCD playback but I think it's more of a conversion problem so I decided to post the question here. Sorry if I made a mistake ^^*

Here's the scenario... I usually convert my AVI files into Mpeg-2 using TMPGEnc and burn them onto a SVCD with NTI CD Maker 6.5. I play these SVCD on a Go Video DVD player, which btw doesn't support VCD but has been playing SVCDs fine. Recently I have run into a bunch of SVCDs that I recently burned and wouldn't play on my dvd player. I thought it was a problem with NTI so I tried authoring the SVCD with Nero 6 and it still wouldn't read the cd. So I tried playing my other SVCDs that I made before the problem and they worked, which meant it wasn't a problem with my DVD player. Anyways I'm thinking it's something to do with TMPGEnc.

Recently I have been noticing that TMPGEnc closes on me after the file is done. Before it would just make that beep sound and stay open and not close on me but now it does. I'm not sure why though either. Also when I load the AVI file it would bring up a screen saying judging field order which it never did before. The funny thing is that when I play the mpeg-2 file there isn't any problems on Windows Media and when I burn it onto SVCD it can still be played on my computer using Intervideo Windvd 5 but it just doesn't read on my DVD player. Most of the SVCDs I have been playing on my DVD player before were PAL but I did try some NTSC and they worked. As the situation stands, I can't play either newly burned PAL or NTSC cds. Is there something with TMPGEnc that I can adjust to fix this? Please help someone. Thanks!
