I've had a look through several guides and I cannot find an answer to a pretty simple question.
I've got lots of MPEG1 movies (encoded correctly to the MPEG1 standard) and I want to put about 3 or 4 on one DVD, together with a menu system so I can choose which one to play on my stand-alone DVD player. I don't want to re-encode the MPEG1 to MPEG2 because I won't gain anything in quality and this will only balloon the size of the existing movie.
I generally use Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD to burn DVDs but the software insists that the original MPEG1 movie is re-encoded to a minimum of 2000Kbs, which, of course I don't want to do.
Can this be done and if so, what software do I need?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Basically, if your mpeg-1 videos are VCD resolution and 25fps PAL) or 29.97fps (NTSC) then you can just import them into any DVD authoring app. You will need to resample the audio to 48Khz to make that valid for DVD.
If your mpeg-1's are NTSCfilm (23.976fps) then you have no choice bu to re-encode if you want them to be DVD compliant.
