    The page says, "If you're using one of these products, you can upgrade to XYZ"

    Then on that page it says, "Upgrade not available for trial versions".

    Well, I have an SE version of Ulead DVD MovieFactory which is listed as one of the versions I can upgrade but I got it for free so isn't it a trial version?

    Also, what's the difference between MF2 and MF3?

    When they say "trial version", I'm sure they mean the downloadable version that expires after a certain amount of time. If your SE version doesn't expire, then you should be able to upgrade. Besides, you didn't really get it for free did you? It was probably bundled with some hardware, which isn't really free.
