  1. I recorded from my ATI card in mpeg 2 format. What's the best tool for cropping these files while maintaining its quality?

Premiere seem very sluggish with mpg2 files.
Pinnacle Expression generates motion breaks and stop gaps.
I hope this isn't needing more computing power cause my pc is fairly new.

    Thanks for your input.

If you mean to output to DVD, just use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It writes to VOB only what you tell it to.

If you want an MPEG-2 file as your output, Womble MPEG2VCR seems to get a lot of positive comments.

  4. I like things that are easy to do. I use Ulead VideoStudio for that kind of work. The program, if setup properly, will 'Smart Render' and will not reencode the video or hurt quality. You can cut out any portions you want and even add some transitions to help blend if you want. Very easy and fast, expecially for me. The program is available as trialware.

    Good luck.
