I was hoping for some opinions on which software to purchase/download to achieve the following:

I want to convert my VHS sport collection to DVD.

I am at the stage where I have transferred the VHS to the PC via firewire and then converted this avi file to mpeg-2, i.e. I am at the stage where I want to author the DVD.

What I need to achieve from the DVD menu wise is,

I want a main menu (title screen) which has an picture (which will be a image that is really a PC desktop wallpaper) as its background. Here there will be two text options, one sending me to the start of the movie and the other to a list of chapters. (Will the text have to be put on the background before hand and then a hot spot created? Or can different fonts/colours of text been put on. Also, is it possible to have the text change a different colour when "highlighted")

The list of chapters will be the same layout as the title screen but with a centred list of matches, as before with the text changing colour when highlighted as well as a back link.)

There will also be a loop of a music track repeating itself in the background.

I would also like to allocate chapters to certain points in the footage manually rather than have it done automatically every 15 minutes etc.

Whats the best software to use? (Nothing too advanced, but professional looking results).

    Cheers.

    Thanks in advance.
