I have a weird problem
i try to burn a svcd to play it on my dvd player
Each time burn a svcd, i burn it first on a CDRW i put it in the dvd player and everything work fine. Then i burn the same project with Nero on a CDR
put it in the dvd player and it play but the video is all fuzzy with little square in the image.
I did the same thing with another svcd and this time when i put the cd in the drive, it get stick on the "initialising" sequence at the beginning and the menu never appears and i can't watch the videos...
My DVD player is about 2 months old.
I burn every cd at 4x and these cd are Cicero. The CDRW is a Maxell
Do you think that the problem might be the CDs ? If not what do you think the problem is
Thank for help

Today i try to burn the same svcd on a CDR Maxell
and it work properly so i came to the conclusion that these Cicero are probably too cheap to work properly with my dvd palyer or just not compatible with it. -
Does anyone have ever had an issue with compatibility of certain brand of CDR with certain brand of dvd player ?

CD-RW are more like "real" CD's, so players that have a hard time playing burned CD's may work better with CD-RW. You could try some other make of CD-R too.

Yeah this is what i try
with a Cicero CDR i was not able to make the vcd to work
and with a Maxell CDR it was working
so i was wondering if other people have compatibility issue (CDR vs DVD player) like i had. -
Yes, I'd say every player has kind of issues with some type of media. It's not certain that the more expensive the better - it can simply be that one manufacture works better than another. And don't judge what works or not by the brand - "Brand names" almost never make their media, but buy them from CMC, Ritek, Matsushita... And you never know when they change their source...

Ok great
thanks for the advice
i will probably try a Maxell or TDK and see if its work properly -
It's very very common for a disk to play on one player and not another. Partcularly when dealing with a settop player and a game machine. Heck, my APEX 1201 plays anything whereas my opterite won't play TDK 2x's past 3 GB (no it's not the disks per se', they cert 100% in any test I do).
You really need to match your media to your player, unless you have one of the players that plays anything (too bad APEX has the worst remote in the world). To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
