I have a stand alone Philips DVDr80 +R recorder. Since stand alone recorders use a different writing strategy than a DVD burner I should be able to use 2.4x, 4x, 8x media with out any problems correct? The firmware has been updated to FF16d which is the latest.
I have heard that the 4x media has a little different quality controls than the 2x and you might get a little better recording out at the edge of the discs?
I don't have a DVD burner only a DVD player. Is there any program I can use the check the mfg. code are should I be concerned since I use a stand alone recorder?
Thanks
