  3. Well, obviously noone's going to answer the last question. As to converting, there's a guide under the CONVERT link to the left of this window. I'd recommend some patience, though, as all of the converters seems to rely on doing frame-by-frame screen captures.

  5. hmmm. Real media is a very stupid format. Its very hard and pointless to get it to MPEG-1. so much so that i suggest you dont bother with it at all. Anyway if you want to bother and see how bad it is for yourself, then there is some proggie out there that does it. RM -> Avi then you have to do AVI -> MPG using TMPGENC or whatever you want. the RM -> MPG proggie captures the video while you are playing it. The advantage is that the capture is at playback quality, so there is no quality loss. The disadvantage is that the frame rate of the capture is only about 1/3rd of playback, which makes the movie very jerky, and a pain in the ass to watch. anyway, i dont have a link for you, search for it at hotbot.com and you will come up with some results. Use this as your search string

How to convert RM to MPG

That should surely give you the results you're looking for

  6. There's a proggie called TINRA (This Is Not Real Anymore) which converts RM to AVI. After that you can send it to other things. Caution: often makes files too big for windows to handle (i.e. the 2GB limit)

  7. I kinda ran into this 2GB limit, it seems. I tried to convert a 30MB RealMedia file and the output is like 4GB. Result: When I try to look at the AVI file it seems totally f**ked up (missing colors, end of the movies seems to be in the beginning etc.).

    Any ideas?
