    ive had no problems burning with my toshiba SD-R6012 when until recently neither nero 6 or gear dvd (both mastering and professional versions) can read the DVD-RW i have on the drive. i have used several other media but to no avail

    i have tried to reformat my hard drive but still no avail..

    would it be possible for me to reset the firmware?

    anyone having the same problems as mine?

    I've never had that problem on my 6012, but I don't do a great deal of burning on it, since it's only 1x. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to upgrade / downgrade the firmware to see if that fixes anything. Is this in a laptop? If so, something could possibly be loose. Also, have you tried regular DVD-R discs?

    yes this is a laptop a FUJITSU C2210 actually.. and yes i have tried regular dvd-r's..

    dunno what you meant by "something loose' how could this be when the dvd drive is internal? can you point this out so i can double check?
