  1. Can you tell me why when i play a DivX avi file on my computer i cna see at the bottom right corner of the video the little logo on DivX
    but if i am converting it to a mpg file the logo is gone ? Isn't the logo is part on the original video ? How can it disapears like that ?

    No, the logo is added on playback by the codec. It can be switched on/off by settings in the codec configuration.

    but not customizable
    how can i confgure a codec ?

    Start->programs->Divx codec->decoder configuration.

    Its the only one I am aware of, that doesn't mean it IS the only one.

    Xvid's codec has links to both its encoder settings as well as it decoder settings placed in the start menu. The configuration settings boxes you are talking about is the configuration for Divx's decoder settings (post processing)

    Most of the other codecs (i.e. Non MPEG4 like MPEG1, MPEG2, etc.)do not have customizable postprocessing so there is no need for a configuration screen. As far as I know.
