I have been burning DVDs flawlessly for the last few months with the same software, hardware and media (see end of message for details)... Then all of a sudden I am getting this warning/error message when burning a basic backup DVD-R in Nero. As far as I know, no settings have been changed... Here is the warning message, once I click the BURN icon:
------------
Warning...
You are about to create a multi-session write once DVD disc. Session number 2 and above will not be readable with some DVD-ROM drives and operating systems prior to Windows XP.
How do you want to continue?
- Burn multisession anyway
- Burn without multisession
- Cancel
------------
I have tried both 'burn multisession anyway' and 'burn without multisession', and neither discs work in my DVD player.
Why is it giving me this message all of a sudden, and how can I get everything back to normal and continue backing-up my DVDs? Any help would be appreciated.

Just thought of something that I did mess around with... Using DVDInfoPro, I did try to set the drive booktype awhile back to DVD-ROM. The system hung, so I reset. The whole time, the 106D drive's light was on... Any chance I messed something up that would cause this error? If so, how can I fix it?
I notice that on the discs that I have burned today, both have book-types of DVD-ROM; shouldn't they be DVD-R? -
Is the no multisession option checked on the multisession tab?
Are you burning a video DVD or do you burn as data but set the options manually? -
I have checked the 'no multisession' option, but that is not making a difference...
I am burning a movie from the HD (VIDEO_TS folder + AUDIO_TS folder), as a data DVD.
Does this help? -
There are two possibilities. Either one of the files in your VIDEO_TS folder is corrupt. Or, Nero is corrupt.
To test the integrity of the files in your VIDEO_TS folder, run DVD Shrink on them a second time. Back up from the VIDEO_TS folder to a new VIDEO_TS folder without any compression. If DVD Shrink finishes the job, then the files are okay.
If the files are okay, then there's something wrong with Nero. Uninstall Nero. Clean the registry with Nero's Clean Tool. Then reinstall Nero. -
Turns out the problem was Nero - I unistalled it and re-installed it fresh and the problem disappeared. This may be the last straw for me with Nero, I'm looking into some other burning programs...
Thanks for your help -
