    I want to copy my laurel and hardy vhs tapes to dvd
    but when I try to copy my tapes to the dvd recorder (philips dvdr80) it says the tape is copy protected
    is there any way to remove this copy protection?

    there are professional products like the "sima" line. Do a search for "sima" of "copy protection" and you will be able to get more information.
