The absence of the main feature files VTS01XX.VOB etc. to do this I would suspect reauthoring is required

  3. CoCoNiPs,

DVDShrink can't maintain or rewrite menus in reauthor mode. You either have to use something like DVDFab or learn how to use tools like ifoedit. menuedit and some sort of DVD authoring software - a time consuming process.

DVDStripper will split your DVD and allow you to put anything you want on either DVD (keeping whatever menus on both) without having to do all the boring and long manual work

it's a bit confusing at first for newbies and eaiser than others but once you get the hang of it, it's real easy using the Title Selector to split the DVD

you can also strip the crap that plays before the menu and disable the buttons to whatever is missing by using MenuModder which is also part of the DVDStripper package

    both programs are free

When I have a DVD9 disc that has both the MOVIE and EXTRAS on a single disc I do the same thing. Put the MOVIE on one DVD-R disc and the extras on a 2nd DVD-R disc.

A lot of movies like this require very little to no compression when you split out the main movie and keep just one audio track.

For this I use DVD2ONE in MOVIE ONLY mode.

For the 2nd EXTRAS disc I use DVDShrink. Here I reduce the main movie to STILL IMAGES and delete all the AUDIO and SUBTITLE tracks. This will leave the MENU structure intact and will almost always require no further compression (of the menus or the extras) once you hack away at the main movie as I said.
