Ok, this may sound weird but I had a file that was half downloaded from Kazaa(good size too) and I was previewing it with kazaa closed and when the time on the video had run out I started kazaa with windows media pl. still open on the file. I looked in the traffic window and the file is completely gone or so it looks. It's also not in the shared folder anymore either. How can I recover it because I am pretty sure it's still on my hard drive?

    Thanks

If you can remember what the file was called just do a search for files and folders on your hard drive

there's an awesome program called Sequoiaview that will display the contents of a drive as blocks, the bigger the block, the bigger the file.

you can mouse-over big blocks and it will pop up a description and location of the file. you could run that and look for big blocks.

Tried doing a search on my drives and even searched hidden files but no luck. I'm at campus now but will try that program later tonight and see if that helps but I'm seriously beginning to think that my system completely purged the file.

When i had high speed internet, and i shut down the PC without turning off kazaa some reason my .dat files were gone, this might be the reason.

  6. When the download finishes, it puts the full file in the folder you started the download in. So if you moved the .dat file, then go back to the start download location, and it should be there.
