Freakin Windows.
Under my DVD/CD-ROM Drives I have the following listed.
IOMEGA DVDRW4224INQ-D SCSI Device
TDK DVDRW420N SCSI Device
And all of my burns at 4x are failing at the lead-in stage. I hate windows, it can go to hell and die, Linux works fine with these drives. Now i'm going to have to reinstall XP AGAIN!!!

nothing wrong with being listed as a scsi device .... that would not be your problem

Hmm.. just did a system restore to when I remember the last time my burner worked, and now I can burn perfectly at 4x.. and they aren't listed as SCSI devices anymore either. Maybe it is just a side effect for something that went wrong. I'm not really sure, but it's been almost 2 months since my last format so I'll just go ahead and do a complete reformat/reinstall tonight.
