damaged dvd

Hi

Need some help guys.
Have an import dvd film from the US - Unfortunately it is faulted approx 80% of the way through - none of the rippers can read from the dvd

How can i salvage most of the film - extract th vob files and rebuild a dvd from those extracted files and is it possible to pick up the film files after the fault on the vob

I sense there iis away round using some formof clip method - but with which prog

is there anyprog that reads the vob files and then redirect hem to form a dvd
