Am I the only one who is wondering how Tivo knows how many times Tivo users replayed the Janet Jackson halftime show? Does the Tivo unit upload what you watch? Does ReplayTV do the same thing? I was looking into getting one of these but I don't want them recording what I watch, selling that info to someone, and charging me to do it.

jJust read they collect your viewing habits but you can opt-out. Of course, how many Tivo users know this? They should offer a discount to opt-in. Instead of being automatic.
