Know anything about the JVC HR-S8000U???

Does anyone know anything about the JVC HR-S8000U.
I just got my dads old machine (and the original remote, and it seems to be built like a tank. This one has probably only seen 20 tapes in its life, and appears to work.

Searching the net I've found very little, except for references to "the best pro-sumer level SVHS deck" and the like. Also a reference to being made BEFORE Macrovision was required (or existed).
Unfortunately the manual is missing.

Has anyone owned one?
Does it have TBC or similar?

Any help appreciated.

Surely someone must have used this machine, or at least known someone with one.
What use for it would you advise?
I'm going to be doing video capture to PC for edit, and may also get a JVC HR-S9911U.

How might these be used together best?

Actually, I'd already emailed LordSmurf.
This was one JVC that he hadn't used.
