I want to run two computers with a DVI KVM switch. When I switch away from the computer with the 9600XT and then switch back a few seconds later, the video is gone (black screen).
In trouble shooting, I found the following:
If I hook the monitor directly to the digital port of the 9600XT, it behaves the same way. Unplug the cable and plug it back in, and the video is gone.
If I use the analog monitor cable with an adapter to the DVI port, or to the analog port on the 9600XT, the video is still available after unplugging and then reconnecting.
My other computer has the ATI AIW Radeon and it does not lose the DVI signal when switching away and then back.
I also own the ATI AIW Radeon 8500 and it also loses the video after switching. For some reason, the older card will keep the video signal and the two newer cards lose when switched away from and then returning.
Have current Bios and drivers for all.
