Lite-On LDI851S Issue with Imation 4x

Hi Folks

I have Liteon LDI-851S burner in an external enclosure. I am using Imation 4X DVD + R(RICOHJPN00) and i am given the option to burn @ 4X but when i burn @ 4X, my DVD player does not recognize it. My DVD-ROM does recognize it and play it.

Maybe i should try playing this DVD on another DVD player.(Mine is 4 year old SONY). Is there any way i can fix this?

Also, i got the ARITA (RICOHJPN00) media from OM and the speed is 2.4 X. People claim that they are able to burn @ 4X for this media. I am not getting it. I have the latest firmware also from the liteon website.

Am i missing something? Help appreciated.


BTW, I am using DVDShrink and NERO for burning.

I might be wrong, but I thought RICOHJPNR00 was 2.4X and RICOHJPNR01 was the 4X version. Also, look at the sub version or revision with DVD Identifier, I don't think DVDInfoPro will give you the sub version without displaying the full MID and having to find it yourself.
