Thats fricken outragous to pay for a dvd authoring program. I wouldn't pay no more than $100 tops for one.

If I want a lot of features in a dvd authoring program , dvd-lab has what I need.

You are correct. DVD-Lab is much better. They also make an option to download a TMPG Encoder to apply to the software. Also, you can easily go with AC-3 using BeSweet. It works fine, just need to configure it right. On a side note, it is best to convert whatever original file it is to Stereo Wav and do your editing on that file, then convert it back to AC-3 using Besweet.

your download might be damaged- Ulead's NAS seemed to go south for awhile.

I have not had the chance to fully test it - looks pretty good though.

To those interested: take a look at the system requirements before downloading.

Microsoft Windows 2000, XP
Intel Pentium III 800MHz or higher
128MB of RAM (256 or more recommended)
500 MB of available hard disk space for program installation
14GB hard disk space for video capture and converting
Microsoft DirectX® 9 and DVD-ROM drive
Real-time preview requires at least P4 2.0 GHz or equivalent, 512 MB RAM

I'm still running 98SE, so this software is not for me, at least for now.

Upgraded to directx9b and it works fine now.

I purchased the upgrade version and it's great. It now handles 16:9 file sizes. You have control over the volume of the menu music. Also I noticed that the authoring process is faster than the previous version. DVDWS2 is full of goodies and enhancements.

Well worth the money. Still too pricey.

but it will do macrovision and css encrytion .. so its really aimed higher than consumer level. Another product that is optimized for "intel hyper-marketing" oops threading.
