I usaually use clone to remove sub-title when I'm archiving my DVD's & I've decided to try Shrink.
I noticed Shrink has a option to remove sub-picture. Is this the same as sub-titles?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but subpictures are any items which appear "on top of" the video, including subtitles as well as the "highlight" layer in menus.
You would think they would be called "superpictures"... -
anyone ever find out about this
im wondering the same if sub pictures on dvd shrink are the same as sub titles?
let us know! -
Sub pictures are just overlays pictures/video streams. They can be subtitles, but are also used in menus (selection buttons), or for special effects (see Excel Saga).
Subtitles on a DVD are not 'subtitles' per se, they are bitmap files with text in them. Those bitmap files could have text, pictures, japanese characters, etc. It's all the same to the DVD. Of course when they have text it's the same as subtitles -
In the case of DVD Shrink, it is referring to subtitles. If you need the space, go ahead and remove them. However, they tend to be fairly small.
If you have a need for subs, keep 'em.
