  1. I have a Panasonic DMR-E50 setup question. During power up you're asked to setup the lang etc.. It also forces you to go thru an auto channel selection process. I'm using the E50 to copy stuff that I've stored on the hard drive of the PVR built into my SAT Rxer (reason for not buying the E80). I will be never use this for channel selection, and will always use the Line 1 input only. Since the channel scan finds no channels you get an error, and I can't seem to figure out how to over ride this. So every time I power on, it goes thru the whole setup process again.

Does anyone know how to tweak this, or do I just live with this small but annoying problem?

    Thanks Glen

  2. It was asked here before and solution was to plug cable "one time" to satisfy recorders need and unplug it after.

  3. I kinda thought of that aleady, but since I use a Sat Dish and not cable I don't think that this is an option. If I'm not mistaken... the Dish output would already be isolated to a single chan say '345' so a chan scan wouldn't find the standard UHF & VHF freqs it's looking for.

I think this is correct.. not sure?

If you hook up the coaxial cables from your sat dish one time it will do the trick.I have the E80H and it worked for me.

  5. I have an E50 as well. I only use it to copy VHS tapes to DVD. Never plugged a coaxial cable into it and only use "line 1". When I turn it on, it goes to that set up screen. I just click the "return" button on the remote control and it bypasses that screen. Just hit the return button and it should work.

  6. On my E50 I just plugged a coax cable from my VCR into it then it was able to find channel 3 so now it doesn't go through the setup nonsense.
