Hello. I'm looking for a guide anywhere that teaches you step-by-step to put removable subtitles onto DVD. The problem is, the set of subtitles I downloaded have 2 different files that work together: an IDX and a SUB file. The creator said their filenames must be identical to the movie's filename in order to be able work on the computer. But I'm making a DVD and not watching the movie on the computer. What next?

I think the subtitles were ripped from a DVD. I know how to make permanent subs with those. To do that, I followed this guide:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/153058.php

After reading that, does anybody know how to add selectable subtitles onto a DVD?

Thanks. I think I got it working...but I might have some problems when converting my IDX and SUB file to SUP format using Subrip. Is there a guide anywhere that explains the options in the program? Plus, after converting, there were MANY SUP files. Is that supposed to happen? Also, they say I need to transfer the color codes into Ifoedit, how do I know which are color codes in Subrip?

I found this guide which fits my situation perfectly:

But it needs DVD Maestro or Scenarist which is too expensive for me. So, you say IFOedit can take subtitles. Can it be selectable with the on/off switch? Maybe I can just make a DVD with still menus for "play all", "chapters", and "trailers" and for the subtitles, I just use the remote? Is that possible?
