    DivX 3.11a is apparently a hacked version of the Microsoft Mpeg 4 Codec.
    DivX 4.01 is a codec built from scratch by DivX Networks

    Personally i think the 3.11 codec performs better. Anyone else think the same / different ??

    *new* DivX 4.02 now encodes with par or faster than DivX 3.11

    DivX 4.01 vs DivX 4.02
    4.02 encodes 20% faster... which is par with DivX 3.11

    Sorry , I meant that I find that visually the Microsoft Codec performs better than the DivX Networks codec.
