    i'm having trouble with some avi's that have a xvid-ac3dvm 23.976 fps, codecs. Checked with avicodec
    whenever i load them into tmpenc using ntsc (film) dvd template or any other combination, the following happens. i hit start and after 1-2 seconds the preview screen stays black and tmpgenc freezes up.
    are there frame errors or is it an audio problem. if so what programs can resolve this.

    Probably a combination of both. TMPGEnc can't handle AC3 audio, so it has to be extracted and converted to wav first.
    Search for and remove bad frames in an AVI with VirtualDub MP3 Freeze. Guides to be found left.
