  1. Hi,

I've got a serious problem with my MMC capture presets. I can edit and select them as it usual, but every time I restart the system, the presets I selected in the "Recording Preset" field are gone and replaced with the "default" settings (DVD, Good, Longer, Video CD). So I always have to re-select my own setttings if I don't want the program to record in poor quality.

I've tried newer MMC and Catalyst versions - the problem remained.
I've edited the registry settings - nothing changed.
I've used other non-user settings - they remained!
ATI couldn't help me, maybe anyone in this world does have this problem, too.
My system runs with Win98 SE, btw.

This can happen if your system crashes, or hangs on any ATI TSR, or you close the SETUP screen without being on the PRESETS tab (MMC bug).

    Happens to me too sometimes.

Your settings are still there, just need to be mapped to the button again.

If if 100% kills the settings (nowhere in the custom list) then you have issues.

And thats exactly the problem I have. The settings are still in the settings list, but they're not mapped every f... time I restart the system. It's really annoying to have to remap the settings. If I forget it, the captured movie is unsuitable for SVCD's.

The strangest thing is, that only the custom presets won't stay mapped. I can map every ATI-made preset from the list to the button I want and it stays there, no matter what happens. As soon as I map a custom setting and do a restart, the custom setting is replaced by the default setting.

Do you know what the keys in the registry are good for, btw? I changed the key names to the presets, but that bitch of a capture tool just ignores it...
