  1. Okay folks,

I'm hoping that you good people might be able to offer me some suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.

Just picked up a DVD+R/+RW burner a few weeks ago. I've been burning a few DVDs and things seem to have been going well. I've been watching my burned discs on my computer and they playback just fine. Today I tried watching a few discs on my standalone player and they started getting pixellated after playing for about ten minutes.

Part of the problem, I'm sure, could be my ancient standalone GE DVD player. So, I switched to my PS2 to see if that would do the trick. That worked much better, but I still had infrequent pixellation happening.

I'm confused as to why they play just fine with no errors on my computer player, but not so well on the standalones.

BTW, I'm using a LiteOn LDW-401S burner and Memorex DVD+R discs.

    Thanks in advance!

    What is your source?
    What software are you using?
What bitrate and frame size are you encoding to?

  3. I'm sorry about that. I meant to include that information in my original post and then left it out. D'oh!

The source is a Simpsons DVD from my collection. I've just been playing around with the burner and snagged a disc at random.

As far as the software goes, I've been using DVD Shrink 3.1 to decrypt and then Nero 6 to burn the disc. Using DVD shrink I burned two episodes to the first disc with no compression and then did the other two eps as still pictures.

    Hope that helps.
