    i just bought a dell inspirion 8100 and i have a couple questions.

    1. i got windows me preloaded but it says a free xp upgrade coupon. does that mean i can go buy xp for free.

    2. can someone recomind a car power adapter and a airplane power adapter.

    3. is 99 to much for a second battry.

    4. does windows 98 support the ntfs file system

    5. i declined buying videowave 3, so could someone direct me to a free firewire appilcation.

    Most likely the XP they are talking about is Home Edition. Which is a crippled version of Professional Edition. It is less complex and tailored for home users, so like there is no SMP support (Two processors), and lots more options are not included by default in Home Edition. I read that at the MS site, when they had a "Which Windows is Right For You?" hyperlink up comparing the two falvours of XP...

    4. No. Yes if you buy an app for it. Search for "win98 NTFS support" or something similar on the net. I know there is one out there, I used it before.

    Yeah sorry, I should have mentioned that NTFS can be used from Win9x with 3rd party software. Win9x doesnt support it out-of-the-box is what I meant.
