Hi guys,
I have tried to back-up a DVD Extra dvd (the interactive quiz game Who wants to be a Millionaire) and although it plays (both in my pc and standalone player), there is no menu navigation. You cannot therefore scroll through the choices of answers for example.
The ripping seemed complete but I guess somewhere along the line I am missing the "Extra" part in the burning process?![]()
Nero has the option to burn CD Extra but not DVD extra as far as I can see.
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Wot is a DVD-Extra disc ? I know you can get films with added DVD-Rom info, do you mean this ?. To make these just choose DVD-Video in Nero and add the extra files (the DVD-Rom info) outside the Audio_ts and Video_ts folders.
How do you copy the original disc ?. Do you use Dvd decrypter ? -
Not sure how the technicalities of DVD Extra work.
My understanding as a layman is that the "extra" part covers the interactive part of the DVD. So for example, if get a screen with four possible answers to a question, the "extra" function allows you to use the arrow keys on your remote or pc to choose your right answer, then somehow checks whether that is the correct one.
On the disc I burnt, the qeustions and answers seem to be there, but the disc is missing the information to link it all together. If it 'aint broke, play around with it! -
when i "backed" "my" copy of the millionaire dvd extra i simply did a DVD COPY using NERO 5510. works a treat. i no longer have to risk using my "originals"......lol

Interactive DVD's like that are just cleaverly authored menu titles - if you look at the display on the player, you will see it jump to a different chapter depending on your answer.
I think the question here is can you make a DVD like a CD-Extra, where there is audio first and a data section.
The "real" answer is no, it's not in the DVD Spec.
But, that doesn't stop you putting data on the disc so long as you don't put it in the VIDEO_TS directory. If you have an autorun.inf file on the disc and windows doesn't detect it as a DVD-Video title and run your player, it is possible to make it look like a DVD-ROM.
