Here's my problem! Before I recovered my computer and reinstalled Nero I would try to burn a DVD-video and get the reallocation error, and it would tell me about it and I could still burn and they always came out ok. Now that I have reinstalled Nero when I try to burn it just says reallocation failed and spits my black disc out. If I change it to DVD-rom UDF/ISO it will burn fine.
I know I should just do it that way and not worry about it, but I am just wondering if there is a setting that I can change or something so that it will prompt me of this problem but let me bypass it. I can't figure out what is different now from before.
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

I used to get that message about the "reallocation of files failed" constantly but I found a good fix for it. I load up IFOEdit and open up one at a time the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_xx_x.IFO and click on GET VTS Sectors for each one. That usually fixes the problem and then Nero will accept the files.

I am having the same issues with reallocation errors. I did this fix too, but it didn't make the error message go away. (The latest version of IfoEdit fixes all the ifo files when you click on GET VTS SECTOR button just once.) I even followed the fix of changing the value of the end sector by -1, but that didn't work either.
My test disc burned fine and played fine in both PC and stand alone player though. I'm wondering if I should just ignore the error and burn anyway? -
What exactlly does 'Get VTS Sectors' do?

After trying all the different fixes suggested, seems like buring in UDF instead of DVD-Video is the only way to bypass the error message.
What's the difference between selecting UDF only and UDF/ISO combo though? Anybody knows?

DVD Shrink is the way to go!
When having Nero allocation errors I always Shrink/Backup the movie with the custom settings on 99%.
After that Nero always burns the new files Ok and I barely miss the 1% extra shrink.
