I have been following several tutorials on how to convert my xvid movie to a compliant mpeg file. But no matter which one i try i keep getting this read error from TMPGEnc (read error occured at 00012f40 of module TMPGEnc.exe with 20656850)I am totally frustrated with this program especially when i read how great it is.
Can someone explain to me what this error is and why i keep getting it?

It's because you installed software that conflicts with TMPGEnc.
1) Reboot.
2) Uninstall TMPGEnc.
3) Reboot. Delete old TMPGEnc folder. Re-install TMPGEnc.
4) Reboot.
5) Enjoy.
Nearly always works. Some piece of software has overwritten a DLL that TMPGEnc uses. This will probably break that software, but good luck figuring out what it is.
This all assumes that you actually have a working XviD decompressor, and that the AVI isn't corrupted. To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
Thanks for the reply,i will try what you stated to see if it works. The file is ok as i checked it for corruption.
