  1. I have beem researching this for a long tme as I am going to buy a Pioneer A06 as it has had the best reviews, but people say that NERO is terrible and to use RecordNow Max. Which shall I use

  2. I have both (RNM4.5 and Nero6302) and I use both.

They work excellent with my burners...

  3. Yep..'people' do say Nero is crap but in reality for every one person who says its crap (prob coz they dont know wot they are doing) there are 1000s of perfectly happy users.

Ive been using Nero pretty much since the beginning and Im very happy with it for CD and DVD burning. Why use anything else ?

  4. I just upgraded from the old A03 to the '06' I've always used Prassi PrimoDVD (which is now Veritas RecordnowMax with tweaked colours!)
Couldn't get Prassi to work with new machine even with pxengine update so I got RNM and it works a treat. The only failures to write or play in my picky Panasonic player was with cheap dvd-r's.

I guess it's personal preference to which you use - now which media to use that works well in your PC and stand alone player is a different story!

Your best bet would be to download demos of both Softwares and try and see what works best for you.

I usually don't reply now to these types of posts about whats the best NERO or RNM ( always ends up in a flame war between me and the NERO lovers), but speaking for myself, i wouldn't touch NERO as far as i could throw it when it comes to DVD burning, just to many problems posted here on DVDRhelp and other forums concering NERO, but for AUDIO/VCD/SVCD Nero works perfectly.

I use Record Now Max and it hasn't failed me yet, sure i get the odd coaster now and then but that because of the DVDrs and not then software.

Anyway i'm sure i'm gonna be flamed again, but like i suggested download demos of both and try, then judge for yourself what works best for you.

Perhaps that's how the flame wars start... ?

  7. Now Mr DVDshrink is working on Nero, I can see it only getting better n better, I am truely puzzled why people have probs with DVDs made from it. As an overall package CD/DVD burnner/Recoder/Cover maker it is a great program.

  8. I've used both, plus Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator, and I like Nero, but it's all mainly a matter of personal preference. Downloading the demos is the best suggestion. Also, people are usually more likely to say something negative about a product than something positive, and I'm sure this is no exception. I really like Nero Recode 2, I should add.

A lot depends on the drive and the computer. Nero works really well on my PC with a Sony DRU500, but I have a neighbor with an HP and on hers Roxio worked best, while the preinstalled software wasn't worth a darn....

  9. For VCD's,HD-BURN and overburning I use Nero 5.5.
For DVD's and audio CD's I use RecordNow.

I told Ya, there always someone.

This is my last ever post on this what is best shit, if you use Nero and it works then good.

For me Nero is a piece of overrated shit software when it comes to DVD burning and there are far better alternatives.

  11. I've been using Nero for a years and used it for 2x dvd's I still use it for Audio/data CD's, but i've had better luck burining 4x DVD's with RNM 4.5. I'm using a NEC 1300A (fw 1.09) and 4x optodics gold tops, w/ NP. What is real crap is Roxio, but we all knew that.
