I wanted to buy an inexpensive DVD recorder.

Which of the following is best: (picture quality, ease of use, least amount of problems)

    Lite-On - LW-5001
    CyberHome – DVR 1500
    GoVideo - R6530
Any other suggestions or other recommendations?

My main use will be to copy my VHS collection, DVDs and save a few On Air shows off a RePlayTV. I do not need a firewire unit, no camcorder.

    Thanks in advance

Do yourself a favor and buy a panasonic for about $300.00 on ebay ,I got the e80H for $490.00 and it was a great value, and finally you buy cheap you will get cheap go for the panny... 8) 8) But all jokes aside if you are going to make an investment buy something that will last a long time and panasonic has been making them for a while and they are a good choice like the e50 and the e30..

APEX DRX-9000 ... look for my name and read cmments and other reviews I've given it to date ... excellent machine, I tested it against a handful of others ... this was the winner, at only $300

  4. I have to agree. Go with quality. Only reason why I am thinking about Cyberhome or LiteOn is becouse there is region-free hack for them, they support PAL and NTSC, and also 110V and 220V (can move with it). If you don't need any of this. Go for Panasonic or Pioneer... or something with better "name".

  6. Might be a e30 on ebay, I have one of these they have three inputs, three outputs & more buttons on the front panel so you don't have to use the remote, they took those features out with their next models, e50 etc...
