  1. I am looking to purchase a portable DVD player with the following specifications:

    5-7" screen
ability to play SVCDs on CD-R media with a CBR of 2520
    2.5 or greater battery life

So far the Panasonics that I found using the DVD player tool on this website seems to be the front runners for my purchasing decision.

But if anyone has a better suggestion or a reason why Panasonic portables are no good... or personal recommendations from everyday use, please tell me.

Another problem I have faced is a place where I can actually purchase said devices. I have tried Target, BestBuys, Circuit City and K-Mart. These stores in my area (Central NJ) only seem to carry 4 or 5 portable DVD players max. If someone has a store or a reputable online site where portables can be purchased, it would really be appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my budget is anywhere from 300 - 500 dollars. 300 dollars would be optimal though

    Thank you all!

Although I am in the UK, I have the Panasonic LV50.
It is great, plays everthing -r, +r, -rw, +rw dvds and cd-r/rw.

    Brilliant player.

  3. Thanks for the input... I'm also reading good things about the Initial 1810 8" portable DVD player, gonna go test it out first at the local Wal-Mart.. hopefully they have it available.

In the meantime, any reason I shouldn't go with the Initial 1810 if my SVCDs work on them?

    Thanks in advance

  5. My Walmart only had dummies for it's Initial products. I went to Circiut City to test it.

    Hope this helps
