I was just wondering because I've only received about 50% of what I've submitted.I'm tired of these companies stiffing me out of money owed to me,it's no different than if an employer owed me money.I have complained to the BBB and the FTC,now I'm complaining to my state attorney and assemblyman.I'm also considering taking them to small claims court because some of these rebate checks are $10,$50 and even $100 and if millions of people nationwide would file similar lawsuits their legal fees would be astronomical.
Why does it take these companies up to 12 weeks to process a rebate when the IRS does it in 2?
To qoute Peter Finch in the movie Network:"I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"![]()

I've gotten 100% of my rebate checks. Even on stuff that I returned.

If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0 -
I've gotten more than 75% and less than 100%. But it's a lot closer to 100 than 75.

i got a rebate on my 80 gig harddrive a year or two ago.. $60.. thats the only mail in rebate i've ever done.
a friend of mine bought a pioneer a05 (black) a while back.. it went on special the next day, so he returned the drive (rebate deducted from refund).. and purchased another one (white).. the company said he couldnt get a rebate on the original one because it was returned, even though the place he returned it deducted the refund.. but he did get the 2nd refund.. quite a gyp.. and the rebate forms are so goddamn picky..
i stay away from mail in rebates. -
Rebates are scams
Best advice is to avoid anything with a rebate.
If they reject you, report them for fraud, and confront the store manager.
Tell them you reported them for fraud
Raise enough hell, and they'll give you your rebate.
My dad did this recently, and they were all apologetic and told him they'll take care of it.
The manager said they put rebates on stuff to make money, since most people either don't bother sending them in or give up after they get rejected for not filling this or that out or sending in everything they were supposed to.
It's a dirty petty tactic, and unfortunately it works, because most people are unaware of it and don't look into it. -

Yes, they should be reported for fraud. Is there a law in the US covering rebate scams?
In Australia, there isn't many rebates available here. I got one last month on a computer software and this helps. -

Not any that I'm aware of,that's why I wrote to my local politicians.I would like to see stiff penalties to these companies that (a)refuse to send a check unless you contact them again.(b)not send me a letter saying that my form was not filled out properly and to please submit another.(c)send me a check 6 months after I submit the rebate. -
All except one (Fuji CD-R rebate). And I don't have a total number but I bet it's close to 50.

100% Even one that was on Best Buy web by mistake that made my purchase of 100 CD-R for free
