  1. I am trying to use Windows Media Encoder v9 and it is driving me crazy. I am not sure if this is the right forum but if not I am sure someone will either move it or let me know.

I have a DV camera that I capture using IEEE and have several programs to capture. Adobe Premiere 6.5, Vegas 4.0, Ulead Movie Maker 2. Pro Coder and of course Windows Movie Maker.

What I need to do is create video that I can play on a web page so I have tried capturing a piece of video with all of these programs and converting it using WME 9 and am going no where.

First everytime I capture using Premiere, I use the DV 48kHz preset. It captures fine but if I try to play it back using Windows Media Player or real player I get a message saying it cannot playback these files.

If I render the file using the Microsoft preset it plays. I then try to convert the file using the WME9 with vhs & cd selections and it plays but the video it twice as fast as the audio. The audio is playing at norma speed.

Same thing happens with Vegas and even Ulead.

    What am I missing here?

1.) Why does the file captured from Premiere not play without rendering?
2.) Why does the video play abnormally faster than the audio in WME9
3.) How can I simply capture video and have it small enough to play on a web page?

    Thanks for you help.

I cannot answer all of your questions, but if you are making web videos, it may be best to try wmv format. It is designed for web sites and most computers can play it.
