I think I read that this is a rebadged Pioneer 107 drive (not sure though), and that means you can expect it to be out when the the Pioneer 107 is out. Supposedly, the Pioneer 107 will be available on January 15th.

i don't think its a rebadged pioneer. cuz the pioneer only writes cdrs at 24x and the memorex writes at 40x (just as one of the things i picked out)

I posted on this site somewhere before, but this drive has been out for nearly 2 months, I got mine in early December. It is listed in the drives list on this site. I dont know who makes it, I have 3 of them. Actually I will sell one of them, its a great drive. The thing is, there is no 8x burner thats dual format with a buffer larger that 2mb. Thats a problem for me, because it hurts my multiple burns.

no no no. this drive writes +R AND -R at 8x. i think ur thinking of the 8x+R and 4x-R drive that memorex released.
