  1. Ok I know its not a protections scheme.....atleast I don't think it is. Anyways, I am having trouble backing up a copy of my Metallica S&M. It ripped just fine using DVDShrink (same settings as all of my other backups) and it gave me 4 .vob files.....which it should have. All the .vobs open up fine in Power DVD and all but when I try to burn it (DVD-Video), Nero tells me it might not burn correctly and all that fun stuff.

I hit continue anyways and I put it in my Lite-On LVD-2001 and instead of it saying DVD at the top like it usually does, it tells me its loading the first .vob.

It still plays just fine until I try and go to the second or third .vob. Neither one of them will play. But the fourth will play just fine. So 1 and 4 play but 2 and 3 don't.

Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone come across this?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

  2. try recordnow max.. been burning dvd's with it for quite a while now, never had any problems..

if that doesnt work... start over again.. here's my method

rip to iso w/ dvd decrypter
    mount iso through daemon tools
    transcode with dvd2one
    burn with recordnow max

i know i've got an extra step there with daemon tools/iso, but i like to have the iso just incase, and so i dont accidentally delete the folder from my hdd.

if you want you can just rip in file mode with dvd decrypter and skip the daemon part..

    Care to expand on that?

I may know what's wrong. It could be that your BUP are bad. Just delete, copy IFO and rename copy to BUP.

Personally, I use DVDDecryptor for ripping any DVD's, then use DVDShrink or DVD2One

I use Nero 6.3 burn, no problems

Maybe DVDShrink is struggling with some protection

  6. Well thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it.

Weird thing is, today I loaded it up in Nero again to see what the error said exactly.......no error this time. I decided to give it a burn anyways and everything went along just fine. No errors or anything. All chapters work just fine.

Thanks everyone for the help. Wonder if it was just some bad media or something. Maybe I forgot a file....who knows. Thanks again.

Same method here it is flawless, i always use ifo edit at the end and just get VTS sectors I have had issues with disney movies with dvd2one and this had fixed it, ushally it does nothing but it can throw up a quick flag.
    Thanks alot,

More than likely you put the files into the root of the DVD instead of the VIDEO_TS folder.

Everytime I do that nero complains, I look and say to myself dummy and move them where they belong. It happens to me when I change the title of the DVD and forget to click the VIDEO_TS folder before adding the files..

    Cheers
