    Hey guys

    i downloaded a xvid avi movie and the audio is delayed and i cant seem to find a solution to fix the problem!

    if anyone can help it would be really appreciated!

    virtualdub. Keep the video and audio in direct stream mode. Look at the audio stream properties and you should be able to add a delay (+ or -) to adjust the audio.

    how do i look for the audio stream properties to do what you are saying?

    thanks for the reply im still a bit confused here because i have never come across this kinda problem!

    In virtualdub go to the Audio menu and select INterleaving. A dialogue will open. Tick (if it's not already) "Enable Video/Audio Interleaving. In the lower half there is a section called "Audio skew correction". Enter a delay value to shift the audio, A negative amount makes it start earlier, a posative amount makes it start later.

    Make sure Direct Stream Processing is set for both video and audio to stop it re-encoding.

    In Virtualdubmod you get this dialogue by loading your video, then select Streams->Streal List from the menu. Right-click on the audio stream and select Interleaving. The rest is the same.
