DVD to DVDR..backgroundnoise??

I just began to copy dvd tot dvdr...tried it with Pinnacle IC and dvdshrink, but I was not satisfied about the backgroundnoise in the dvdr..especially in the dark colours there is a lot of moving.....when I encode divx to svcd with TMPGenc with noise reduction the quality I get on my standalone is much better...! Is there a way to improve this...??

Maually compress using DVDShrink. Shrink down the Extras, take out any audio you dont use (ie. French, Directors Comments, etc.) and compress the Menus. Then the compression on the movie will go up. Now on some larger movies, like Scarface, the Godfather Trilogy, The Abyss, you might have to Re-Author. Tutorials are on the LEFT, use them.
