Once I have demux'ed a VOB file to get the ac3 stream separate...is there a way to slice off the ends WITHOUT having to re-encode it and lose quality? Seems like AC3tools may help do this...any confirmation?
What I'm wanting to do is fade the audio in & out...but I don't want to convert the whole AC3 track & lose quality all-around. So I thought I would try slicing the ends off...convert them to wav, edit for the fades, convert back to ac3 and then merge the ends back onto the ac3 track - that way I would only lose quality on the tips but the majority of the track would still be original quality. Is there a better (or easier) way to do this?
