  2. You sure that's the SeVCD and not SxVCD ? cause SeVCD is just VCD with VBR, so it doesn't sound right, SxVCD uses MPEG2 and that would explain being identified as SVCD.

Either way, what do you mean "Original APEX 600" ?

  3. I mean SeVCD, a new TMPGEnc template, that does Mpeg2 format, that allows you to fit a 2 hour movie on one 80Min CDR. Original Meaning APEX AD600A with loophole Screen and nothing else has been done to it. No Firmware upgrades of any kind. I had the SeVCD tested in a few other systems and it played fine. Just trying to get my DVD player up to par so I can watch my SeVCD's. Thank you for your time and help.

  4. I'm curious as to why the SeVCD which is MPEG1 VBR would be identified as a SVCD on your player, but when you say grinds, it sounds like the Laser of your DVD Player is either dirty or not working properly at all, if you are under warranty I highly recommand you get it checked, if it is not, try getting a CD/DVD Lense Cleaner, and then try playing the media.

  5. I notice in my APEX 600a that it takes a LONG time for it to even reconize a standard SVCD, sometimes upto a minute, but that same SVCD takes just seconds in my APEX 660. I Notice that the 600a uses some other type of operating system compaired to my 660 and 500w, certain discs read differently between these players.
