  1. according to the dvd player lists, some people have had joy in getting the cv52 to play dvd+r/rw. i have let my housemate use my burner for his dvds and tried a few settings and tried them in my player and they don't work. i have tried imation +r and +rw.

i'm not that bothered but have some of the above disks that i got cheap and would like to use them. some of the comments about the player mention mode 2. i have looked around the burning software i have used, such as nero, and cannot see anywhere to change from mode one.

in dvdxcopy platinum there is an option to 'force dvd-rom booktype' which looks promising but cannot be checked.

i have only recently got my dvd burner so am getting used to the programs and settings.

thanks for any advice on if it is possible to get them to play

  2. Only a few DVD+RW burners (namely RICOH, HP drives) support bitsetting. And even fewer DVD±RW burners support bitsetting. What is your burner's model?
