  1. What software should i use to merge two dvd movie (movie from 2 disks) to one big file - before i compress it to one disk?

    It takes a bit of knowhow but you could rip with Smartripper and join with DVDShrink OR VOBEdit/IFOEdit.

  5. I haven't done it but I think one way you could do it is to rip the movies first, as usual. Then use an authoring program that would take VOB files. I think TMPGDVD Author takes VOB files. You can make a simple menu for it too.

    You are correct falberni. You could do it using TMGEnc DVD Author. I don't recommend it that way though because you have to go through the time consuming process of authoring whereas you can simply join the VOBs without authoring again.

    DVDShrink.
    With 2 DVD readers, it's very simple to take 2 discs and reauthor. If you got just one reader, rip the first to ISO and mount using Daemon tools.
